Sellers on Diversity and S.C. Political Parties

State Rep. Bakari Sellers answers a questions from a Dutch Fork High class about whether South Carolina’s two political parties are segregated.

Sellers responds that while there are relatively few blacks in the Republican Party, it’s mostly the Democratic Party that seems to have a far more representative cross section of South Carolina society. But he adds that it wasn’t always that way.
