Where Government Gets Exposed

Keel: SLED Takes What it Can Get

SLED Director Mark Keel admits to a Midlands-area high school class that when it comes to budget time, he’s not in a position to do much compromising.

“If I go down there and ask this year for $10 million and get $5 (million), I’m going to be appreciative of what I get,” Keel says. “I haven’t really compromised but if they say we can’t give you $10 (million), we’re going to give you $5 (million) I’m happy to get what I get.”
