Peace on earth, and good will to men
At The Nerve, we spent a lot of time and energy publishing the excesses and misadventures of government officials and agencies. Those problems are real ones, and we will continue to point them out where we can. Indeed, we hope our state is headed, together with Ebenezer Scrooge, to a better and happier future.
But we are not unmindful of the blessings that are ours as American citizens and South Carolinians in the present. On this great and miraculous day, we want to put aside all criticism, all references to troubling trends and evidence of wrongdoing, and wish our fellow South Carolinians – even the politicians who don’t like taking our calls – a merry, merry Christmas.
